Welcome! I’m George Guthrie, MD, and I practice Family Medicine in Central Florida.

Early in my medical career, I was amazed to see the power of simple lifestyle changes to radically change people’s lives and eliminate disease.

This inspired me to return to school to earn a graduate MPH (master’s in public health) degree in nutrition.

Over the years, I’ve worked with clinic patients, community-based lifestyle-change programs and live-in intensive lifestyle intervention programs to help people restore health and decrease reliance on prescription medicines. I currently teach physician residents just starting out how to use diet and exercise as tools for healing.

I’ve seen many people, like you, who’ve experienced dramatic transformation through the whole food plant-based way of living presented on this website and in our featured resources.

Highly processed, refined foods that make up much of our standard American diet (SAD), coupled with inactivity, have now been identified as causes for most of our chronic health issues.

At the same time, a growing body of evidence demonstrates that whole, unprocessed, plant-based foods support the body’s natural healing power, improving or even reversing some of the biggest killer diseases today!
